WPT Y9 London Drama Trip

As part of WPT’s Enrichment and Entitlement Promise, Year 9 Drama students from across the Trust came together for the first ever joint Drama residential trip – enjoying two enriching days in London, filled with a range of cultural and educational experiences.

Students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of professional theatre, attending two fantastic West End productions: the amazing comedy The Play That Goes Wrong and the musical adaptation of Back to the Future.

As well as this, students took part in a practical acting workshop led by a cast member from Back to the Future, gaining insights into performance techniques and life on stage.

The trip also included a visit to the British Museum, time to explore cultural hotspots such as Covent Garden and Leicester Square, and a shared lunch at Pizza Hut – making it a truly memorable experience that combined learning, creativity, and fun.

At ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Partnership Trust, we aim to provide students with more than just classroom learning. Our Drama curriculum is carefully designed to develop confidence, creativity and insight, encouraging students to become independent, collaborative and reflective learners. Experiences like this play a vital role in deepening their understanding of theatrical form, exploring a wide range of stories, themes and social issues, and instilling a lifelong appreciation of the arts.

A huge well done to all the Year 9 students who were brilliant throughout the trip and a big thank you to the staff members who organised and supported this residential – you made your school and the Trust extremely proud.
