As much as I love working with real everyday women, and showing people how to use makeup to enhance their natural beauty, I also enjoy the more creative side of my job. Working on photoshoots is particularly fun, because of the collaboration between all the people involved. Sometimes, you get to take the lead, other times, you have to follow the desires or requests of the client, the designer, the photographer, or the key makeup artist- as with working backstage on fashion shows or doing a beauty editorial for a glossy magazine, like the work I’ve done for Cosmopolitan and Seventeen magazine, to name just a couple. The energy is alive but different for each of these types of events. But the results are worth the wait and work, as you get to be a part of making someone’s artistic vision come to life!
I love discovering and growing with new up and coming photographers, fashion designers, artists and models as much as I’m thrilled and honored to be working with some of the industry’s best and established celebrities. Some of my international clients include Joey McIntyre of the NKOTB, Brit boy band A1, Julio Iglesias Jr, Canadians Margaret Trudeau and Farley Flex, and my Filipino artists include Ms. Cherry Gil, Georgina Wilson, Angel Jacob, Audrey Tan-Zubiri, Bianca Araneta, Daphne Osena Paez, Sarah Meier Albano, Isabel Roxas, and other female and male PMAP members… I encourage you budding makeup artists to surround yourselves with the best. People you look up to, and to always keep growing. Live events that I do include group workshops, makeup and grooming seminars (for corporate training), press events and customer incentive or product launch events for retail cosmetic brands at Holt Renfrew, Sephora and The Hudson’s Bay Company. I’ve even travelled from school to school to talk about Prom makeup and general etiquette!
